The Executive of Bracknell Forest Council met on Tuesday 18 June 2024. All-Age Integrated Carers Strategy 2024-2029
The Executive formally approved the All-Age Integrated Carers Strategy 2024-2029. This strategy was co-produced with a Carers Strategic Group, which included members from the community, health, and voluntary sectors. Over 1,000 carers participated in the development and consultation process. The strategy aims to support carers across Bracknell Forest by addressing their needs and ensuring they have access to necessary resources. Authority was delegated to the Executive Director: People, in consultation with relevant portfolio holders, to approve the action plan.
Berkshire Intelligent Transport System (ITS) - Maintenance Contract Award
The Executive approved the award of a new joint contract for the maintenance of the Berkshire Intelligent Transport System (ITS). The contract was awarded to Bidder 2, who submitted the most economically advantageous tender. The ITS infrastructure includes traffic signals, CCTV systems, and real-time passenger information systems. The new contract will commence in July 2024 and aims to modernise and maintain the ITS infrastructure effectively.
Safety Valve - Construction Projects Strategic Procurement Plan
The Executive approved the Safety Valve Construction Projects Strategic Procurement Plan. This plan involves tendering for two main contractors to create additional Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) across two sites within the borough, subject to planning approval. Authority was delegated to the Executive Director, Communities, and the Executive Member for Children, Young People, and Learning to award the contracts, provided sufficient resources are available.
Council Plan Overview Report Q4
The Executive noted the performance of the council from January to March 2024 as highlighted in the Council Plan Overview Report Q4. The report included recommendations from the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and aimed to brief the Executive on key performance areas to ensure appropriate actions are taken if needed.
