A previous variation in August 2025 to include an additional unit received no objections.

The application for variation received formal representations from Environmental Protection and Planning, both objecting to the proposal. Environmental Protection stated that the extended hours would likely undermine the licensing objective of the prevention of public nuisance due to the proximity of residential properties. Planning also objected, citing amenity impact and a previous refusal for a similar extension.

In addition to representations from responsible authorities, 19 objections were received from other persons, predominantly concerning noise generated by the extended use of the terrace and its impact on nearby residential properties. Concerns were also raised about public safety, particularly regarding access routes and fire escape provisions, and the potential for increased crime and disorder in the surrounding area. Several objectors highlighted that no material changes had occurred since previous applications for extended hours were refused.

The applicant, Mr Aaron Brown, stated that the extension would allow customers to complete their outdoor dining experience during the late afternoon and early evening, while maintaining appropriate safeguards. He proposed a strict dispersal policy to ensure the terrace was cleared by 8:00 PM and closed down by 8:30 PM.
