The AGMA Executive Board is scheduled to convene on Friday, 26 June 2026. The meeting's agenda includes the appointment of a Chair and Vice Chairs for the upcoming year, as well as the review of the AGMA Constitution and the minutes from the previous meeting.
Appointment of Chair and Vice Chairs
The Board is set to consider the appointment of a Chair for the 2026/27 period, as stipulated by Section 9.2 of the AGMA Constitution. The Chair will be elected from the largest political group represented on the Board. Additionally, under Section 9.1 of the Constitution, the Board may appoint up to three Vice Chairs. The agenda indicates that the Deputy Mayor is to be considered for a Vice Chair role, and Councillor Mark Roberts is also slated for consideration as a Vice Chair. A further appointment of one other member as a Vice Chair will also be considered.
AGMA Constitution
The meeting will provide an opportunity to note the AGMA Constitution. This document outlines the governance and operational framework for the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities.
AGMA Appointments and Nominations
A report from Gillian Duckworth, GMCA Solicitor and Monitoring Officer, concerning AGMA Appointments and Nominations is scheduled to be presented.
Minutes of Previous Meeting
The Board is expected to review the minutes from the AGMA Executive Board meeting held on 13 February 2026. The minutes from that meeting indicate that there were no declarations of interest made by attendees and that apologies were received from several members, including Councillor Arooj Shah, Councillor Tom Ross, Shelley Kipling, and Sue Johnson. The previous meeting also addressed the AGMA Budget Update for 2025/26 and the Budget for 2026/27. The previous meeting also considered a budget of £2.086m for AGMA functions in 2026/27 and charges to GM local authorities for AGMA functions in 2026/27.
Declarations of Interest
The meeting will include a session for the receipt of declarations of interest from attendees regarding any items on the agenda. A blank form for declaring interests has been circulated, and attendees are requested to return this to the Governance & Scrutiny Officer at least 48 hours prior to the meeting. The GMCA Code of Conduct for Members outlines the principles of conduct, including selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, and leadership, and details what members should and should not do, particularly concerning the declaration and management of pecuniary and personal interests.
