The Licensing Panel of North Northamptonshire Council met on Thursday 1 October 2026 to consider the fitness of several individuals to hold Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licences. The panel resolved to allow two applicants to retain their licences and refused one application.

Consideration of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licences

The panel considered three separate hearings regarding the fitness of individuals to hold Hackney Carriage and/or Private Hire Driver Licences.

In the first hearing, concerning an individual identified as 'KS', the panel resolved that the applicant be permitted to retain both a Hackney Carriage Driver Licence and a Private Hire Driver Licence.

The second hearing, relating to an individual identified as 'LF', also resulted in a positive outcome. The panel resolved that this applicant be permitted to retain their Private Hire Driver Licence.

However, in the third hearing, concerning an individual identified as 'MK', the panel resolved to refuse the application for a Hackney Carriage Licence. This decision was made following consideration of the individual's fitness to hold the licence. The details of the reasons for refusal were contained within exempt reports, as per Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.
