The Cabinet Sub-Committee for Crime Prevention Grants awarded funding for CCTV installation and the purchase of crime prevention equipment. The committee also noted an appendix detailing crime prevention fund applications, with the public excluded from this discussion due to the sensitive nature of the information.
Crime Prevention Fund Applications
The sub-committee approved funding for two applications aimed at reducing crime and enhancing resident safety. Up to £23,670.14 was awarded to the North Area Committee for the installation of CCTV in Bude Park (CPF43-01). Additionally, up to £630.00 was granted to the North West Area for the purchase of target hardening equipment (CPF43-02). The sub-committee is satisfied that these approved applications are capital schemes which will help reduce crime and allow residents to feel safe.
The meeting also considered an appendix detailing further crime prevention fund applications. In order to discuss this information, which related to the financial and business affairs of individuals, the public and press were excluded from the meeting in accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act, 19721. The sub-committee agreed that the appendix be noted.
Minutes of Previous Meeting
The minutes of the meeting held on 28 September 2026 were agreed as having been read and correctly recorded, with one amendment. Minute 13(b) was updated to reflect that £10,654.00 was awarded to the North West Area Team for the installation of CCTV on Reynoldson Street (CPF42-01).
