Request support for Telford and Wrekin
We're not currently able to provide detailed weekly summaries for Telford and Wrekin Council. We need support from the council to:
- Ensure we can reliably access and process council meeting information
- Cover the costs of processing and summarizing council data
- Maintain and improve the service for residents
You can help make this happen!
Contact your councillors to let them know you want Telford and Wrekin Council to support Open Council Network. This will help ensure residents can stay informed about council decisions and activities.
If you represent a council or business, or would be willing to donate to support this service, please contact us at community@opencouncil.network.
Summary
This meeting was scheduled to include a discussion about whether to renew a private hire vehicle licence. Councillors were also scheduled to consider whether to exclude members of the public and the press from the meeting.
Renewal of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence
The meeting was scheduled to include consideration of an application for the renewal of a private hire vehicle licence. The report pack includes a letter from a member of the public to the council dated 19 June 2024. The letter writer is only identified as redacted, but appears to relate to the conduct of a private hire vehicle driver licensed by the council.
Further to our telephone conversation yesterday morning I am writing to inform you of the incident that I was unfortunate enough to be involved in whilst trying to get home from work.
On the evening of Saturday 17th June 2023 at approximately 23.15 I left my place of work ... I contacted [redacted] as I have done many times in the past to collect me from my work ... at approximately 23.25.
The report pack contains no information about the driver or the vehicle.
