The Standards Committee met to discuss the Standards Committee Annual Report 2023/24. The Committee noted the list of Councillors’ memberships as Council appointed representatives on outside bodies, joint committees and school governing bodies, and requested that Members orally declare any personal or financial interests. The Committee noted the Standards Committee Annual Report 2023/24 and agreed to forward it to Full Council for assurance on standards issues.

The Committee received the Standards Committee Annual Report 2023/24.

The report provides an update on standards issues in the council, for example:

During 2023/24, 9 complaints were received under the Members’ Code of Conduct. This compares with 8 complaints received in the previous year.

The Committee discussed whether the report should be forwarded to the Full Council:

There is equally no requirement to forward the annual report to Full Council for assurance on standards issues. The Committee can decide whether or not they wish to do so.

The Committee decided to forward the report to Full Council.

Declarations of Interest

The Committee received a report on declarations of interest.

The report contained a list of Councillors’ memberships as Council appointed representatives on outside bodies, joint committees and school governing bodies (Appendix A)
