Summary
The Chiswick Area Forum meeting on Tuesday 24 September 2024 was due to include an informal networking event before the formal meeting, in which residents could speak to their councillors, and a range of council officers. During the formal meeting, the forum was scheduled to receive an update on the plans for the Hogarth Roundabout, and updates on several topics raised in previous meetings, such as waste from the Mogden Sewage Works, a proposed zebra crossing for Fishers Lane, and the use of E-bikes in the borough.
Making Hogarth Roundabout Safer
Transport for London (TfL) was due to provide an update on its plans to make the Hogarth Roundabout safer.
The speed limit will be reduced from 40mph to 30mph within the roundabout and approachesHogarth Roundabout proposals, page 1.
The plans included reducing the speed limit to 30mph, resurfacing the carriageway, providing advanced stop lines at all approaches, and deep cleaning the subway.
TfL also proposed to reduce the exit arm to the A316 from the roundabout from two lanes to one.

In order to achieve this, TfL proposed closing the Church Street arm of the roundabout.

This would require vehicles to access Church Street via Chiswick Square.
Further proposals included:
- Closing the slip road by Fuller's Brewery
- Widening the shared use pavement areas on the A4 outside the brewery
- The installation of Sustainable Urban Drainage (SuDS)1
- Providing cycle parking at all the subway entrances
- Renewing the paving around the subway entrances
- Providing seating near the subway entrances and on the south side of the roundabout
