Appointment of the Corporate Director of Early Help & Prevention
The committee were scheduled to interview a single candidate for this role.
Whoever is appointed to this role will lead the council's Early Help and prevention work, which aims to build stronger communities by providing residents with the support they need at the earliest opportunity.
The role has a wide range of responsibilities including:
- Overseeing the council's Family Hubs, Libraries, the Adult Learning Service, and youth spaces
- Working with Children's and Adults Early Help services
- Working with skills and employment support services
- Developing the council's public health partnership approach to ending violence against women and girls
- Ensuring holistic support and settlement of refugee and asylum-seeking people
The job description says that the new Corporate Director will be responsible for driving transformational change in line with our ambition set out in [Mission Waltham Forest](https://www.walthamforest.gov.uk/about-council/vision-and-priorities/mission-waltham-forest) and in creating stronger communities
