Summary
This meeting was scheduled to discuss the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive for Lambeth Council. This included considering a report about the recruitment process and interviewing candidates.
Chief Executive Recruitment
The committee were scheduled to note a report about the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive. The report explains that the Council used an executive search firm called Starfish Search to help it recruit a new Chief Executive, and that it received applications between 5 September and 4 October 2024. The report proposed that the committee recommend their preferred candidate to the Full Council for approval, and if this is successful, then the Leader of the Council will agree the terms of the new Chief Executive's employment. You can read the report that was prepared for this meeting on the Council's website.
The report also included the job description for the Chief Executive role:
The role of the Chief Executive is to lead delivery of these aspirations across the Council and the borough.
The report explains that £200,000 per year has been allocated to fund the new Chief Executive's salary.
The committee were also scheduled to interview candidates for the role. The names of the candidates were not made public.
