The Royal Borough of Greenwich Pension Fund Investment & Administration Panel met to consider a number of issues relating to the investment and administration of the borough's pension fund. Most significantly, the meeting received a report on the state of the fund's investments, a presentation on the performance of the fund's investments with Partners Group and training on the state of financial markets from Blackrock.

Fund Manager Performance to 30 September 2024

The panel received a report from Hymans Robertson on the performance of the fund's investments, which are managed by a combination of BlackRock, LGIM, Fidelity, CBRE, London CIV, Partners Group and Wilshire. The report, which covered the period up to 30 September 2024, noted that

Over Q3 2024, the overall Fund’s assets grew by circa £24.6m from £1,681.40m to £1,706m.

The report also provided an update on global markets.

Pension Fund Communication Policy Statement

The panel was asked to agree to a new communications policy statement for the Royal Borough of Greenwich Pension Fund. The statement, which has not been updated since December 2023, describes

the policy of the Royal Borough of Greenwich in its role as the administering authority for the Royal Borough of Greenwich Pension Fund

as required by the The Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations 2013 ¹. The policy statement describes who the Royal Borough of Greenwich Pension Fund communicates with and how it communicates with them.

Early Retirements Report

The panel received a report on early retirements from the Royal Borough of Greenwich Pension Fund that occurred between 1 April 2024 to 30 September 2024. The report found that there had been 40 early retirements in this period.

Partners Group provided a presentation on the performance of the fund's investments with them.

Training - Investments - Financial Markets & Product Knowledge

The Panel received training from Tamryn Rowlands/Keerat Chana of Blackrock on the state of financial markets.
