This meeting was scheduled to include discussions about the allocation of funding to local groups, a proposal for a new cycle route, and the experiences of tenants renting from private landlords.
Sustainable Streets
Lewisham Council's Cycling Strategy Wheels Love Lewisham
was scheduled to be discussed. In particular, its aim of increasing the proportion of journeys in the borough made by bicycle to 10% by 2031, and how a new protected cycle route on Hither Green Lane could contribute to that aim.
Hither Green NCIL Fund
The Assembly was scheduled to decide how to allocate its remaining Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) Fund to local groups. 1
The fund had £25,934.20 remaining.
The following groups had applied to the fund, requesting the amounts listed:
- Friends of Mountsfield Park - £2,447
- Friends of Mountsfield Park - £10,000
- Hither Green Community Association - £7,825
- Hither Green Community Association - £7,500
The report noted that:
Demand for the NCIL fund this year is high, with just under £25k to allocate and applications totalling £27,772.
Private Rented Sector
The meeting was also scheduled to include a discussion of the experiences of people renting their homes from private landlords in Hither Green ward. The agenda stated this would include a discussion about how residents can get support and advice on issues they are experiencing with their landlord/letting agent
