This meeting was scheduled to include a review of how NHS North East London was responding to the Government's 10-Year Health Plan. The meeting was also scheduled to receive an update on the financial position of the NHS in North East London.

Health Update, March 2025
The meeting was scheduled to receive an update from Zina Etheridge, Chief Executive of NHS North East London, on a number of topics, including:
- The response of NHS North East London to the Government's 10-Year Health Plan. NHS North East London's response asked for the Government's plan to focus on: > A laser focus on furthering equity and addressing health inequities for residents, communities and staff. This includes enabling access to meaningful health and care employment for our residents.
- The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help improve healthcare and address health inequalities in North East London, including triaging chest x-rays and identifying patients at risk of unplanned hospital visits.
- The opening of the new St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.
- The performance of primary care in North East London, including meeting the targets of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF).
- A review of the NHS 111 service in North East London.
- Updates from local healthcare providers, including:
- Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: Update on operational performance and corporate activity.
- Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT): Update on urgent and emergency care, patients with mental health needs, waiting list reduction, cancer targets, finances and other news.
- North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT): Updates from the Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Collaborative and the Community Healthcare Collaborative.
- Barts Health NHS Trust: Update on elective recovery, managing emergency pressures, board changes, operational updates, finances and planning and other updates.
Finance Overview
Henry Black, Chief Finance Officer of NHS North East London, was scheduled to present an overview of the financial position of the NHS in North East London. The report stated that NHS North East London was:
committed to delivering a sustainable recurrently balanced financial position over the medium term.
The report also outlined a number of efficiency programmes that were being considered.
Long Term Conditions
Charlotte Stone, System Programme Director for Long-Term Conditions at NHS North East London, was scheduled to present a report on how the NHS was working to reduce the risk of, and to better manage, long term conditions. The report stated that:
Long term conditions account for half of GP appointments, 64% of all outpatients and over 70% of all inpatient bed days.
The report also highlighted that cardiovascular disease and diabetes were the two priority areas for the year ahead.

The committee was scheduled to review the forward plan of the committee, the action tracker from the previous meeting, and the recommendations tracker.
