The most recent meeting of the Health & Wellbeing Board included reports on community safety, engagement with the voluntary sector, and the NHS, as well as the annual reports on oral health and safeguarding.
Ambition 5 Review - Community Safety Report, and Ambition 5 Review - Community Engagement and Activity Report
The board was scheduled to review two reports on the Ambition 5 programme, which aims to build strong communities and tackle inequality
in Westminster. A report on Community Safety was scheduled to be considered, but no public copy of the report has been published. The meeting was also scheduled to review a report on the ways in which the council has been engaging with the community and voluntary sector in relation to the programme.
NHS North West London Integrated Care Board (NWL ICB) Joint Forward Plan
The Board was scheduled to consider the NHS North West London Integrated Care Board (NWL ICB) Joint Forward Plan for 2025-26. The plan set out how the NWL ICB will meet its statutory duties over the next year. The plan contains 38 individual work programmes, and describes the local context, performance and finances of the NWL ICB. The plan also contains details of how the NWL ICB intends to deliver on the four ambitions it has defined:
- To improve the health and wellbeing of our population and reduce inequalities in health outcomes
- To deliver excellent care and experience for those with the poorest health and from the most disadvantaged communities
- To improve the experience of people who use our services and our staff
- To improve the use of resources so that we deliver the best value for our population
Director of Public Health - Oral Health Annual Report
The Health and Wellbeing Board was scheduled to receive the Annual Report on Oral Health in Westminster. The report contains details of the oral health of residents, including children and adults, and how oral health in the borough compares to other similar areas. The report provides details of how many people have visited the dentist, and the reasons for their visit, as well as information on hospital admissions due to tooth decay. The report also sets out how the council intends to improve oral health in the future.
Safeguarding Annual Report - Children and Safeguarding Annual Report - Adults
The board was scheduled to receive the annual reports on safeguarding, for both children and adults. Safeguarding is about protecting people from harm. The reports describe the work that has been done over the past year to protect both children and adults from harm, and details of how many people have been the subject of safeguarding concerns. The reports also contain details of how safeguarding is organised between different agencies in the borough.
