The Taxi & General Licensing Sub-Committee of West Northamptonshire Council met to consider several applications for taxi and private hire licenses. The agenda included four applications in total, and the Sub-Committee was also expected to decide whether to exclude the press and public for any of the items.
Applications for Taxi and Private Hire Driver's Licences
The Sub-Committee was scheduled to consider four applications for new licenses:
- One application for a new private hire driver's licence.
- One application for a new Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s Licence.
- Two further applications for new private hire driver's licences.
Exclusion of Press and Public
The agenda indicated that the report relating to the applications contained exempt information, as defined in the Local Government Act 1972, Schedule 12A, Part 1, Paragraph 1, which relates to information about individuals.
The agenda stated that it was up to the Sub-Committee to decide whether to consider each item in private or in public, balancing the interests of individuals or the council against the public interest in accessing the information.
