The Discretionary Housing Payments Review Advisory Panel of Westminster Council was scheduled to meet on Tuesday 10 June 2025 to discuss changes to membership, declarations of interest, and to review appeals against decisions not to award a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP). The panel was expected to exclude the public and press from a portion of the meeting due to the discussion of information relating to individuals.
Review of Refused Discretionary Housing Payments
The panel was scheduled to review two appeals against officer decisions not to award a DHP1. The report pack contains detailed information about each case, which is considered exempt from public disclosure under the Local Government Act 1972 due to its personal nature.
-
Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) are payments made by local authorities to provide further financial assistance towards housing costs. They are usually short-term payments for those who are eligible for Housing Benefit or the housing element of Universal Credit, but still need extra help to meet their housing costs. ↩
