This article provides a summary of the agenda for the Employment Appeals Committee meeting on 21 October 2025. Consideration of an Employment Matter

Due to the nature of the information contained within the report, the public and press were expected to be excluded from the meeting during this discussion. According to the agenda, this was because the item involved:

'Information relating to any individual' and 'Information in respect of which a claim to legal professional privilege could be maintained in legal proceedings'.

The agenda stated that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosure because of the need for confidentiality when considering matters concerning individual officers and obtaining confidential legal advice. This exemption was made under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972¹, which allows councils to exclude the public from meetings when confidential or exempt information is being discussed.
