The Calne Area Board is scheduled to meet on Tuesday 4 November 2025 at the Calne Hub and Library. Local Highway and Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG)

• Calne White Hart Junction

The Road Safety Update - Nov 2025 includes data from traffic surveys conducted in Calne between 1 January 2024 and August 2025. The surveys took place at:

• A4 Quemerford - The Willows/The Crescent
• A4 Quemerford East of Fir Grove
• A4 Quemerford (east of Stockley Lane)
• North Street, Calne
• Quemerford A4 (north of Wessington Park)

The Road Safety Update - Nov 2025 also notes that between July and September 2025, the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) issued over 949 tickets to motorists for road-related offences. The most common offences were speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile phone while driving, and driving without insurance.

The Violence Against Women and Girls quarterly report Autumn 2025 mentions that Wiltshire Police are working with Open to Change to offer domestic abuse perpetrators in custody at Gablecross police station the opportunity to work with behaviour change workers.

Age UK

The Age UK - October 2025 Newsletter includes information about upcoming Daytime Disco events in Royal Wootton Bassett, Tisbury, Chippenham and Trowbridge.

The newsletter also mentions that Age UK Wiltshire is working with Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation to help older people afford heating this winter through the Surviving Winter Grant.

Calne Local Voices and Dementia Group

The Calne Local Voices and Dementia Group - 14 Oct 2025 report includes a summary of the results of a summer survey regarding the participation of over 55s in community activities. A key finding was that people did not know what activities were on offer or where to find out. To address this, Mark Edwards from Calne Town Council is producing a monthly information sheet of activities and events.

Family and Community Learning Impact Report

The Family and Community Learning Impact Report 2024-2025 highlights the impact of adult learning across Wiltshire. According to the covering note, the report:

showcases how inclusive, community-centred education delivered in partnership with local organisations has empowered hundreds of residents to build confidence, develop essential skills, and take positive steps in their lives.

The report notes that in 2024-2025, Family and Community Learning supported 635 individual learners across a range of online and face-to-face courses throughout Wiltshire.

The report also highlights the importance of partnerships:

Our partners have deep insight into the communities they serve, and through collaboration, we are able to reach learners who might not otherwise access education.
