The Lancashire SACRE - Agreed Syllabus Conference met on Monday 10 November 2025 in County Hall, Preston to discuss the review of draft primary materials. The conference was also scheduled to confirm the minutes of their previous meeting, and to discuss the date of the next meeting. They were also scheduled to discuss the exclusion of the press and public from the meeting.

Review of Draft Primary Materials

The Agreed Syllabus Conference was scheduled to discuss draft primary curricular materials. At the previous meeting on 30 June 2025, Alison Lloyd, School Adviser, Education Improvement Service, gave an overview of progress to date regarding the Primary Curricular Materials and shared draft information which conference members discussed and commented on. At that meeting Alison Lloyd and Joanne Harris, RE Consultant, also gave an overview of progress to date on the Key Stage 3 Strategy and shared draft information which conference members discussed and commented on. Alison Lloyd also set out the process for completion, consultation and the launch of the new syllabus which would culminate in consideration and approval of the new syllabus by the county council's Cabinet in September 2026.

Exclusion of Press and Public

The Agreed Syllabus Conference was asked to consider excluding the public from the meeting during consideration of the review of draft primary materials. This was to be considered in accordance with the Religious Education (Meetings of Local Conferences and Councils) Regulations 1994¹.

Previous Minutes

The Agreed Syllabus Conference was scheduled to confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 30 June 2025. Apologies for absence from the meeting had been received from Jaspal Kooner and Councillor County Yousuf Motala. During the meeting it was noted that Councillor County Matthew Salter, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, had been appointed as a member of both the SACRE² and the Agreed Syllabus Conference.
