The Health & Adults Scrutiny Sub-Committee is scheduled to meet on 11 November 2025 to discuss the Adult Social Care (ASC) performance dashboard, neighbourhood health teams, and the Learning Disability Strategy. The Sub-Committee will also review the action log from previous meetings.
Learning Disability Strategy
The Sub-Committee is scheduled to discuss the Learning Disability Strategy. A presentation on the Learning Disability Strategy is included in the report pack, alongside the CS Learning Disability Strategy document.
The report pack states that the Learning Disability Strategy is intended to cover the years 2024-2029. It is designed to improve the lives and outcomes of people with learning disabilities in Tower Hamlets. The strategy focuses on several key areas, including:
- Early intervention and prevention: Providing support and services to children and families as early as possible to prevent the development of learning disabilities or to mitigate their impact.
- Education and employment: Ensuring that people with learning disabilities have access to high-quality education and training opportunities, and supporting them to find and maintain employment.
- Housing and independent living: Providing a range of housing options and support services to enable people with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible.
- Health and well-being: Ensuring that people with learning disabilities have access to the healthcare and support they need to maintain their physical and mental health.
- Community inclusion: Promoting the inclusion of people with learning disabilities in all aspects of community life.
Neighbourhood Health Teams
The Sub-Committee is scheduled to discuss a report on Neighbourhood Health Teams. The report pack states that Neighbourhood Health Teams are multidisciplinary teams that provide integrated health and social care services to people in their homes and communities.
The aims of the Neighbourhood Health Teams are:
- To improve the health and well-being of local people
- To reduce health inequalities
- To provide more joined-up and coordinated care
- To enable people to live independently for longer
- To reduce the demand for hospital and residential care
Adult Social Care Performance Dashboard
The Sub-Committee is scheduled to note the Adult Social Care Performance Dashboard. The ASC Performance Dashboard 2 document contains data on a range of performance indicators, including:
- The number of people receiving social care services
- The cost of social care services
- The quality of social care services
- The satisfaction of people receiving social care services
