Summary

School Transport Appeals
The main focus of the meeting was to be individual cases regarding school transport. The committee was scheduled to discuss appeals for transport to the following schools:
- Penrice Academy (three cases)
- Horrabridge Community Primary School
- Truro and Penwith College (Truro)
- The Roseland Academy
- Cornwall College (St Austell)
The report pack included a description of the procedure for appeals committee hearings. This included a statement that:
The appellant will receive written confirmation of the Appeals Committee's decision, normally within five working days.
Exclusion of Press and Public
The committee was asked to consider a resolution to exclude the press and public from the meeting during the discussion of the school transport appeals. The reason cited for this exclusion was:
...on the grounds that there is likely to be a disclosure to the public of exempt information relating to an individual.
This relates to Paragraph 5 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A Local Government Act 19721.
Previous Minutes
The committee was scheduled to approve the minutes from the meeting held on 20 October 2025. For reference, the minutes of the 20 October 2025 meeting include discussion of travel assistance to Wadebridge School, St Columb Major Academy, Callington Community College, Cape Cornwall School ARB, Pool Academy and Poltair School.

The agenda allowed for discussion of any other business that Councillor James Ball, Councillor of the Appeals Committee, considered urgent. According to the Agenda frontsheet:
