The Cramlington, Bedlington & Seaton Valley Community Partnership were scheduled to meet to discuss updates on the Concordia Leisure Centre, the Community Chest, and the Bedlington Town Centre regeneration. Councillors were also expected to nominate an appointee to the Beaconhill Community Association. Additionally, the Partnership was scheduled to discuss the Destination Management Plan.
Bedlington Town Centre Updates
The County Council Regeneration Team were expected provide an update on the delivery of the Bedlington Place Plan, including the development of the Bedlington Place Programme, which is supported by up to £3 million of County Council and Borderlands funding.
The Bedlington Place Programme includes a number of schemes in development set to move into delivery from next year to improve Bedlington Town Centre and Bedlington Station including:
- A new heritage based station cafe/bistro at the new train station
- New public realm
- Wayfinding and connectivity improvement
- Other proposals
Advance Northumberland were scheduled to provide an update on progress and next steps with the delivery of the £7 million investment in the regeneration of the town centre across a number of phases introducing a range of new investment in the town.
Paul McKenna, Programme Officer, Environment and Transport NCC, was expected to share an update on the Bedlington Active Travel Corridor, including what has been achieved so far and what is coming in the next 12 months as the project moves toward the next phase of delivery.
Destination Management Plan
Visit Northumberland, the official Visit England accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnership for the county, has responsibility for engagement with the sector's businesses and communities to deliver sustainable growth aligned with the principles of the Northumberland Destination Management Plan. As part of the ongoing review of actions, the meeting was scheduled to identify community specific views and priorities to integrate into the Plan for consideration as a local or cross-cutting countywide priority.
Concordia Leisure Centre Update
An officer was scheduled to provide an update on improvements to the Concordia Leisure Centre.
Community Chest
A verbal update was scheduled to be provided on the first round of Community Chest applications.
Appointment to Outside Bodies
The Partnership was scheduled to seek nominations of appointees to the Beaconhill Community Association.
Petitions
The meeting was scheduled to receive any new petitions, and to receive any updates on petitions for which a report was previously considered.
Public Question Time
The meeting was scheduled to reply to any questions received from members of the public, which may be received in writing in advance of the meeting or asked at the meeting.
