Summary
The Staffordshire Council Pensions Panel is scheduled to discuss fund performance and responsible investment at its meeting. The panel will review the fund's performance up to September 2025 and consider reports on responsible investment practices.
Responsible Investment
The Panel is scheduled to discuss responsible investment, receiving two reports:
- Risk and Investment Strategy (RIS) Report: The Panel will receive the Risk and Investment Strategy Report.
- LAPFF Quarterly Engagement Report: The Panel will also receive the LAPFF Quarterly Engagement Report Q3 2025, which is produced by the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum (LAPFF)1. The LAPFF aims to protect the investments of local authority pension funds by promoting high standards of corporate governance and social responsibility. The report highlights the LAPFF's engagement with companies on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues.
LGPSC Quarterly Stewardship Report: The Panel will also receive the LGPSC Quarterly Stewardship Report Q3 2025, which is produced by the Local Government Pension Scheme Advisory Board (LGPS SAB)2. The LGPS SAB provides advice and support to local government pension schemes in England and Wales. The report covers the stewardship activities undertaken by the LGPS Central Ltd3 on behalf of its partner funds. According to the report, stewardship is
the exercise of ownership responsibilities by investors, including activities such as engagement with companies and voting at shareholder meetings.
The report also notes that
the UK Stewardship Code 2020 sets a high standard for asset owners and asset managers to enhance the quality of engagement with investee companies to help protect and enhance the value of their investments.
Fund Performance
The Panel is scheduled to review the fund's performance as of September 2025. This review will include:
- Portfolio of Investments: The Panel will receive a report outlining the Portfolio of Investments as of 30 September 2025.
- Fund Performance: The Panel will discuss a report on the Fund Performance for the period ending September 2025.
