Summary
The Warminster Area Board was scheduled to meet to discuss community grant funding, updates from partners such as Wiltshire Police, and local priorities including fire awareness and access to green spaces. Reinstatement of Mobile Breast Screening Unit
A letter from Tom Dommett, Town Clerk and CEO of Warminster Town Council, was included in the agenda supplement, regarding the reinstatement of the mobile Breast Screening Unit in Warminster. The letter noted that Warminster Town Council:
notes with concern the withdrawal of the mobile Breast Screening Unit from Warminster and the resulting reduction in local access to this vital preventive health screening service by asking local women to go to different towns in Wiltshire.
The Town Council had resolved to support the appeal being made by the Warminster Health and Wellbeing Forum, call on the NHS Trust and Integrated Care Board (ICB) to urgently review the decision, support the work of the Warminster Health and Wellbeing Forum, and request that the Warminster Area Board offer their support.
Wiltshire Council Parking Plan 2026-2030
The board was scheduled to receive a briefing note on the Wiltshire Council Parking Plan 2026-2030, which forms part of the Local Transport Plan 4 Parking Sub-Strategy. The Parking Plan aims to:
- Support the local economy
- Balance community needs with sustainable transport objectives
- Ensure parking accessibility for those with mobility impairments
- Improve journey time reliability
- Align parking charges and standards in partnership with local councils
- Support planned growth within communities
Key proposals included a two-year charging cycle starting in 2026, consultation on resident parking fees and arrangements, review of event parking terms, real-time parking availability via digital platforms, a transition to a 100% electric fleet for Parking Services, improved signage, consultation with disabled groups on a new mobility guide, and enhanced cleanliness and maintenance of car parks.
Area Board Funding
The Area Board was expected to consider applications for community area grants.
- Heytesbury and Codford FC requested £994 for portable defibrillators for their youth football teams.
- The Warminster Area Health and Wellbeing Forum requested £400 for partial funding support for a HWB website.
- Warminster Youth Club requested £4914.30 for a SEN youth club.
