The Alexandra Palace and Park Consultative Committee is scheduled to meet on Monday, 2nd February 2026. The meeting will include an update on the Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust's progress and a discussion on feedback from previous committee meetings.
Trust Update Report
The committee is scheduled to receive an update on the progress of the Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust (APPCT) for the financial year 2025/26. This report aligns with the Trust's vision to Create a Sustainable Home for All That We Do.
Under the goal to Provide Great Entertainment and Culture for All,
the report is expected to detail a range of events and activities. These include concerts featuring artists such as Dom Dolla and The Maccabees, the Fireworks and Drone festival, and the PDC World Darts Championship, which is set to remain at the Palace until at least 2031. Theatre productions like Woman in Black
and A Christmas Carol
are also highlighted, alongside exhibitions, community events, and the return of the Redbull Soap Box. Leisure facilities such as the Ice Rink and the Boat House are also mentioned, as is the Phoenix Bar and Pizzeria.
In terms of building climate change resilience, the report is anticipated to cover the submission of a new application to Haringey's Community Carbon Fund for secondary glazing at the Grove Cafe and 345 preschool buildings. The Theatre Green Book self-assessment exercise has been completed, achieving a basic level of sustainable management. The Zero Carbon Accelerator
project, funded by the Mayor of London, is also mentioned, involving a review of the clean energy masterplan and an assessment of building improvements.
The protection of heritage assets is another key area. The Wire in the Sky – Construction of the venue's new attraction, Summit
is nearing completion and scheduled to open on 14th February 2026. Conservation masonry works are continuing at the East Court, with efforts to address defective historic repairs and re-pointing of failed mortar. A Listed Building Consent application has also been submitted for lead capping to decorative scrolls on the East Court entrance doors.
Under the objective to Safeguard Our Green Lung for London,
the report is expected to outline habitat management tasks carried out by Conservation Volunteers, including work at Newland Field and Blandford woodland. A new partnership with Groundwork London has led to the construction of a bird watching platform. Gardening volunteers have been active in planting shrubs and bulbs, while the Park maintenance team has undertaken autumn tasks, including clearing leaves and removing rubbish. The report notes that Alexandra Park achieved London in Bloom Gold awards in several categories, including Large Park and Heritage Parks and Gardens.
The report will also cover efforts to Protect Our Archives And Share Our Stories In Innovative Ways.
The Trust secured a grant from the Business Archives Council to recruit a professional archivist for a cataloguing project. Archive images have been provided for the Boating Lake cafe, and heritage displays have been created for the 150th anniversaries of the Theatre and Concert organ. Behind-the-scenes tours for patrons and the companies of theatre productions are also mentioned, as is the development of a virtual tour of the BBC studios.
Under the goal to Inspire And Engage Our Communities,
the report is expected to detail collaborations with Westminster Abbey's Learning team regarding conservation skills development programmes. The screening of a documentary by The Black Curriculum and a launch event for Haringey Council's new Carers' Strategy are also noted. The Flesh & Pixels
multimedia exhibition by the Young Creatives Network and an event supporting Haringey Council's Youth Cabinet are also listed. The launch of reading-for-pleasure and literacy development programmes, including the North London Book Fest & Biblio buzz Book Awards, is mentioned. The Young Actors Company presented Transmission,
and the Performing Arts School hosted an open day. East Court Christmas Celebrations featured local school choirs, and the Haringey Music Service has entered into a partnership with Alexandra Palace. The Talent Development Programme in the Creativity Pavilion continues to support arts practitioners.
Finally, under Strengthen Our Overall Resilience,
the report is expected to cover the launch of an individual giving programme, including Dedicate a Bench
and Dedicate a Seat
initiatives. The Trust secured an increased multi-year gift from the Matchroom Foundation and received smaller grants from the Business Archives Council and the Chapman Charitable Trust. The Trust formally responded to Haringey Council's draft Local Plan consultation. IT and Network resilience improvements include the migration to a new events management system, Infor, and ongoing work to move away from on-site file storage to Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive. The Trust is also working towards Cyber Essentials accreditation to improve digital security.
Consultative Committee Feedback
The committee is scheduled to formalise any feedback to the Trustee Board arising from discussions in the Joint Statutory Advisory and Consultative Committee meeting.
