The Strategic Sites Committee of Buckinghamshire Council met on Thursday 19 February 2026 to discuss a planning application for improvements to the Woodlands Roundabout. The committee approved the application, subject to conditions.
Woodlands Roundabout Improvements Approved
The committee granted approval for the application for reserved matters concerning the Woodlands Roundabout, located on College Road in North Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire. This application, number 23/03221/ADP, sought approval for the access, layout, scale, appearance, and landscaping of the improvements, as well as the approval of several conditions related to the outline planning permission ref 16/01040/AOP.
The case officer presented the report, highlighting an update that included text for a new paragraph to delegate authority for minor wording changes to the Director of Planning & Environment in consultation with the Chairman, ensuring flexibility without altering the committee's substantive resolution. An additional drainage plan was also included in the update.
Mr Gary Tucker, representing the applicant Taylor Wimpey, addressed the committee. Following the discussion, Councillor P Fealey proposed, and Councillor J Waters seconded, a motion to approve the application. The resolution included the conditions set out in paragraph eight of the case officer's report, as amended by the update, and the additional paragraph regarding delegated authority for minor wording changes.
The Woodlands Roundabout improvements are a crucial piece of strategic infrastructure, forming part of the wider Aylesbury Woodlands development. The project aims to enhance connectivity and manage traffic flow for planned growth in the area. The approval signifies a step forward in the development of the region's transport network.
