The Licensing Sub-Committee C of Greenwich Council met on Tuesday 25 August 2026 to consider an application to vary the premises licence for GB10 Sports Ltd. The committee resolved to grant the application in full, subject to the incorporation of agreed conditions.

GB10 Sports Ltd, 177 Footscray Road, Eltham, SE9 2SZ

The Licensing Sub-Committee (LSC) granted the application for a variation of the premises licence for GB10 Sports Limited, located at 177 Footscray Road, Eltham, SE9 2SZ. The application sought to extend the hours for the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises from 11:00 to 23:00 on Sundays to Thursdays, and from 11:00 to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Additionally, the application requested an extension of opening hours to 23:30 on Sundays to Thursdays and 00:30 on Fridays and Saturdays.

The LSC considered representations from the applicant, Brett Smith, and his representative, David Sullivan, as well as representations from Councillor Rob Sayers on behalf of local residents. Written representations in support of the application were also considered. The committee had regard to the Licensing Act 2003, Section 182 Guidance, the Royal Borough of Greenwich Statement of Licensing Policy, and the Human Rights Act 1998.

In relation to the licensing objectives:

• The Prevention of Crime and Disorder: The LSC gave significant weight to the representations from Councillor Sayers and local residents. While there were no police objections, the committee considered the residents' concerns. The Royal Borough's Royal Community Protection Team proposed conditions 9 and 10, which were agreed by the applicant, and the LSC considered this objective to be met.
• Public Safety: No representations were found to undermine this objective, and the LSC considered it to be met.
• Prevention of Public Nuisance: Similar to the prevention of crime and disorder, the LSC considered the objections raised by residents. The committee concluded that this objective was met.
• Protection of Children from Harm: No representations were found to undermine this objective, and the LSC considered it to be met.

Ultimately, the LSC resolved to grant the application in full. This decision was subject to the incorporation of conditions offered by the applicant, as outlined in page 22 of the report, along with the Royal Borough's standard conditions. These conditions included measures such as SIA-licensed security staff at private functions, half-hourly noise checks after 21:00, and a limit of no more than ten patrons in the external smoking area after 21:00.

There is a right of appeal to the Magistrates' Court under Section 181 and Schedule 5 of the Licensing Act 2003, which must be commenced within 21 days of notification of the decision.
