Appointment of Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service

Greenwich Council agreed to appoint Rickardo Hyatt as Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service on 07 September 2026. The Director of Human Resources, in consultation with the Monitoring Officer, was authorised to finalise contractual and legal processes for the appointment.

The Licensing sub-committee (LSC) of Greenwich Council approved the application for a Variation of a Premises Licence for GB10 Sports Limited on 25 August 2026. The decision extended the hours for the sale of alcohol and the opening hours of the premises. The LSC agreed to incorporate conditions offered by the applicant and standard Royal Borough of Greenwich conditions into the Premises Licence.

Motion - Greenwich Waste Strategy

The Council of Greenwich Council on 22 July 2026 decided the Motion was not carried. The Council resolved to bring forward a new Waste Strategy, report back annually on progress, develop a dedicated waste management plan for town centres and shopping parades, and review the commitment to a garden waste charge.

Overview and Scrutiny - Annual Work Programme 2026-27

The Council of Greenwich Council approved the proposed provisional work programme for the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and its Scrutiny Panels for 2026-27 on 22 July 2026. The decision also delegated authority to the Chief Executive, in consultation with the Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, to make amendments to the work programme during the municipal year. This includes reviewing the Carbon Neutral Plan, assessing Equality Impact Assessments, and reviewing the Digital Strategy and Artificial Intelligence implementation.
