About

The Corporate Parenting Board monitors and reviews the services provided to Camden’s children in care and care experienced young people with all Board Members taking collective responsibility for promoting and ensuring positive experiences and outcomes for these children. The Board is not a formal decision-making body.

The Board provides a forum for elected Members, council officers and partners to receive regular data and information relating to children looked after and care experienced young people and the actions being taken to improve these experiences and outcomes.

The Board also monitors the implementation of the Corporate Parenting Strategy 2025-2028 to ensure that the promises made are delivered and that children in care and care experienced young people living in and outside the borough are supported to achieve their potential.

Local authorities have a duty under the Children Act 1989 to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children they look after, wherever they are placed.

Meetings of the Corporate Parenting Board are not open to the public and the agenda is only available to members of the Board.
