This Committee carries out a number of important functions including; holding the decision making bodies of the Council to account, both in terms of policy and performance, ensuring that the Council achieves best value and value for money, considering the reports and recommendations of external inspections, the assessment and management of risk and ensuring that the Council adequately scrutinises and reflects on its performance to deliver continuous improvement.
