Cabinet

The Executive consists of a Leader and a Cabinet. The Executive will carry out all those County Council functions that are not the responsibility of any other part of the County Council, whether by law or under the Constitution.   The Leader is appointed by the County Council and appoints the Cabinet.   Each Executive Member on the Cabinet has their own portfolio and they are responsible and publicly accountable for decisions made on the council services that are within their portfolio.   The County Council’s Constitution  provides further information.
