About

Borough Council Urgency Decisions are decisions of the council made using a document based process allowing urgent decisions by the Council to be made if the timing of such decisions cannot wait for the next formal meeting of the Council.  These often relate to matters such as member appointments to formal bodies or outside bodies, or other administrative functions, but can be on any topic that the Council itself can make decisions on.   Borough Council Urgency Decisions are written reports authorised by the Chief Executive following consultation with the Mayor, in a process identified in the Council’s Constitution.   These documents are then published shortly after they have been agreed using the Borough Council Urgency Decision process on this website page.    Please note that there are no meetings associated with the Borough Council Urgency Decision process.  The associated paperwork is not an agenda but a record of the decision signed by the Chief Executive, following consultation with Mayor, and published to ensure transparent decision making by the Authority. These decisions are also then reported to the next meeting of the Council itself.
