The Health and Adult Care Scrutiny Panel is responsible for ensuring scrutiny of health services and social care provision within the London Borough of Hounslow. It is the successor to the Adults, Health and Social Care Scrutiny Panel as of 30th June 2010. The Panel has special powers under the Health and Social Care Act 2001 to carry out this work and also retains a power to refer important issues to the Secretary of State for Health. The Panel works closely with NHS and other health and care service actors with the aim of helping to improve provision and act as a ‘critical friend’ in terms of service delivery.
