The Overview and Scrutiny Committee is the Council's main scrutiny committee. It is responsible for co-ordinating and managing the work programme of scrutiny, identifying areas of need or issues of concern and ensuring that there is effective and timely scrutiny of Council policy, budget and authority-wide performance. Its role also includes holding the Executive to account. The Overview and Scrutiny Committee may delegate some of its function to one of the other standing panels and appoints a Chair for each panel from amongst its membership. It agrees the membership of scrutiny panels and sets up new ones as required. For more information contact scrutiny@hounslow.gov.uk
