Council

Council decides overall policies and sets the Budget for the authority each year.   The Council Meeting also appoints the Leader of the Council for a four year term of office and the Chair of the Council and other positions on various committees and outside organisations annually.   Information regarding the functions which Council is responsible for can be found in our Constitution.   Under the Constitution the public can ask questions at Council meetings.   Dates of Council Meetings.   Monday, 14 July 2025  Deadline date for receiving questions – Noon (12pm) on Wednesday, 25 June 2025    Monday, 22 September 2025 Deadline date for receiving questions – Noon (12pm) on Wednesday, 3 September 2025   Monday, 1 December 2025  Deadline date for receiving questions – Noon (12pm) on Wednesday, 12 November 2025    Monday, 26 January 2026 Deadline date for receiving questions – Noon (12pm) on Wednesday, 7 January 2026   Monday, 2 March 2026 Deadline date for receiving questions – Noon (12pm) on Wednesday, 11 February 2026   Monday, 18 May 2026 – Annual (if an Ordinary Meeting of the Council is being held in addition to the Annual meeting) Deadline date for receiving questions – Noon (12pm) on Wednesday, 29 April 2026
