About

Formerly Thirsk and Malton Area Constituency Planning Committee.   Area Planning Committees consider and determine, within their respective geographical areas, planning applications which fall outside the remit of the Strategic Planning Committee and not delegated to Officers.   Members of the public are entitled to attend these meetings as observers for all those items taken in open session.   The Council operates a scheme for public speaking at planning committee meetings. Normally the following people can speak at planning committee in relation to any specific application on the agenda: speaker representing the objectors, parish council representative, local Division Councillor and speaker representing the applicant.   Each speaker has a maximum of five minutes to put their case. If you wish to register to speak through this scheme, you must register with the Democratic Services Officer supporting this meeting by midday, 3 working days before the meeting takes place.   If you have any queries or require any further information, please contact the named Democratic Services Officer supporting this committee.
