2026-27
Content
RESOLVED
that Cabinet agrees:
3.1 To authorise
the Executive Director of Transformation & Resources to
undertake a consultation exercise with the public and Major
Precepting Authorities on the development of a new Council Tax
Support Scheme for working age applicants for 2026-27 based on
Option 3 – a simplified banded Council Tax Support Scheme
based on an annual cost of awards of £14.3 million with an
exceptional hardship fund of £1m.
3.2 Following the
conclusion of the consultation, to authorise the Executive Director
of Transformation & Resources in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Finance and Value for Money to finalise a new draft
Council Tax Support Scheme; and
3.3 That any final
draft Council Tax Support Scheme be presented to Cabinet on 9
December 2025 as part of the development of the new draft Council
Tax Support Scheme, before it is presented to Full Council for
approval.
