Purpose

To consider removing the concessionary rate charge reduction for renting a council owned and managed garage.

Decision

That:

1. The intention to overhaul or remove the concessionary rate charge reduction for renting a council owned and managed garage be approved by the Cabinet Member for Council Homes.
2. Retention for the scheme for blue badge holders be agreed by the Cabinet Member for Council Homes but for parking only and subject to means testing as detailed in paragraph 26.
3. The recommendation in paragraph 27 to reduce the concessionary rate by £2.50 per year for existing concessionary rate licensees and to close the scheme to new applicants be agreed by the Cabinet Member for Council Homes.
4. The proposal to charge licensees for rent reminder letters as detailed in paragraphs 29 to 31 be noted by the Cabinet Member for Council Homes.
