Licensing and Regulatory Committee

The Licensing and Regulatory Committee is responsible for:

·         all functions of the Licensing Authority as set out in the Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005, except as otherwise provided for in those Acts.

·         all other functions relating to licensing and regulation in so far as they are the responsibility of the Borough Council.

·         all functions relating to health and safety at work in so far as they are the responsibility of the Borough Council.

·         Determining changes to taxi and private hire licence fees and charges on an annual basis, authorising statutory publication of the fees and charges, considering objections, and approving the final fees and charges.

The committee appoints sub-committees to hold hearings on licence applications and disciplinary matters.
