Cabinet

The Cabinet will exercise all of the Council’s functions which are not the responsibility of any other part of the Council, by law or under this Constitution, and subject (in the case of executive functions only) to the Leader determining to make the decision personally or that it should be undertaken by an individual Cabinet Member, by an officer, by a committee of cabinet or under joint arrangements.   Executive decision making (aside from those executive functions delegated to Officers and Committees of the Cabinet) shall be exercised by the Cabinet as a whole.   The Cabinet will consist of the Leader together with at least two but not more than nine Councillors appointed to the Cabinet by the Leader.
