Purpose

1.
To consider the comments received following the formal
advertisement of two proposed raised crossings at Castle Street
(Mortimer Street) and Brown Street, Trowbridge and to recommend an
appropriate way forward.

Content

I approve that:

(i)
The proposals be implemented as advertised.

(ii)
The objectors be advised accordingly.

This decision was published on 10 October 2025
and will come into force on 20 October 2025.

Reasons for the decision

5.
It is proposed to proceed as advertised in relation to the raised
crossings. The provision of these crossings provides an enhanced
facility for walking, wheeling and cycling, completing key parts of
the active travel network and links to and from Trowbridge Town
Centre and improving accessibility for all non-motorised users. It
is considered that the crossings will have minimal impact on the
buses using these routes.

Alternative options considered

4.
To:

I.        Implement the
proposals as advertised.

II.       Abandon the
proposals.
