Purpose: The report sets out a proposed strategy for the roll out of CCTV enforcement of a range of moving traffic offences which fall under the powers conferred on the Council by the Secretary of State for Transport under Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act for consideration and endorsement. Support for the strategy's core selection criteria, used to identify potential enforcement sites, will be sought by demonstrating how these can be applied to tackle dangerous driving, improving road safety and the general operation of the highway network.
Content: Resolved – (1) Executive endorsed and approved the adoption of the Part 6 Approval and Assessment Procedure policy as set out in Appendix 1 to Document “AQ”. (2) That an annual performance report be presented to the Regeneration and Economy Overview & Scrutiny Committee on the improvement in compliance of moving traffic orders together with details of the financial matters related to the operation of the service and budget substitution opportunities which have been adopted during the reporting period.
