Purpose: To consider approving the school term dates for 2026/27 for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools following consultation

Content: 1.         That the following term dates be formally adopted for community and voluntary controlled schools for the 2026/27 academic year:             Term Open morning of Close at the end of the afternoon session on Total days per half term Autumn Term 2026 1 September 2026 23 October 2026 39   2 November 2026 18 December 2026 35 Spring Term 2027 4 January 2027 12 February 2027 30   22 February 2027 25 March 2027 24 Summer Term 2027 12 April 2027 28 May 2027 34   7 June 2027 21 July 2027 33       195 2.         This provides 195 days when only 190 term days are required.  Schools should therefore allocate five training days within these dates and then publish their term dates clearly on their websites to ensure that parents and carers are aware of the specific dates for each individual school.
