Purpose:

Content: Following consideration of the report, Cabinet resolved: 1.   That appointments are no longer made by the County Council to the outside bodies listed in Appendix A and that they be deleted from the list. 2.   The outside bodies listed in Appendix B are confirmed, including any additions, to which the Cabinet, Cabinet Members or Committees appoint as set out in that table and that each of these appointments be an approved duty for which expenses can be claimed. 3.   Appointments are made by the Cabinet and Cabinet Members to the outside bodies as shown in Appendix B, subject to the below amendments, until the next County Council election, with a maximum term of 4 years, unless a different timeframe is stated: a.    Sussex Police & Crime Panel – Cllr Mitchell to replace Cllr Ali b.    Sussex University Annual Forum – Executive Director of Place Services to replace Cllr Marshall. 4.   That the following additional appointments are made to the vacancies as set out in Appendix B: a.    Chichester Growth Board – Cllr Oakley to fill vacancy b.    Gatwick Airport Consultative Committee – Cllr Waight to fill substitute vacancy c.    Littlehampton Harbour Board – Cllr Paul Bicknell (Arun District Council) to fill vacancy d.    Sussex Police & Crime Panel – Cllr Ali to fill substitute vacancy e.    West Sussex Local Access Forum – Cllr Burrett to fill vacancy f.     West Sussex Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education – Cllr Sparkes to fill vacancy The call-in deadline is 12 June 2025   2 July 2025:  The Police and Crime Panel, to which appointments are made by the Leader, has one substantive appointment made for the electoral term, as well as a second appointment which is appointed to on a yearly basis subject to political proportionality of the Panel. There is also one substitute appointed.  Appendix B omitted the yearly appointment and therefore the Executive Director of Law, Assurance and Insight has approved the increase of number of appointments to the Police and Crime Panel  to two (and one substitute) and Appendix B has been updated to reflect this change.   All other elements remain unchanged from the 3 June decision report.
