Purpose: The anniversary of the current Microsoft Enterprise Agreement is on 1st July 2025, there is an option to change the existing license model from E3 to E5. The report outlines the benefits this proposal will provide.
Content: The Cabinet considered a report of the Director of Corporate Services, which sought approval to move to E5 Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (MEA) licensing model. The Portfolio Holder for Corporate, Governance and Transformation introduced the report and informed the Cabinet that the Council relied on digital systems to deliver vital services, protect sensitive data and ensure staff and Elected Members could work effectively. The proposal was to move to a Microsoft E5 Enterprise Agreement which offered a comprehensive solution that enhanced security, productivity and long-term cost efficiency. The Head of ICT and Digital was in attendance to present the report and to address the questions and the comments of the Cabinet Members. Resolved that the recommendations set out in section two of the report be agreed. Reason for decision: As set out at section three of the report.
