Purpose: Outcome of Initial Consultation and seeking approval to progress to the next stage of the statutory process.
Content: 1. That Cabinet considered the outcome of Initial Consultation on the proposed expansion of Green Park School and progression to the statutory consultation process be approved. 2. That continuation of the delegation to approve any future allocations and adjustments to existing budgets from the High Needs Capital Programme - Future Schemes to enable future schemes to be progressed in a timely manner be approved. 3. That continuation of the delegation of the Expansion Programme budgets to individual capital projects including making grant payments where appropriate in order that projects can be progressed in a timely manner be approved. 4. That it be noted, the Local Authority (LA) has a statutory duty to: · ensure that sufficient school places are available within their area for every child of school age whose parents wish them to have one. · promote high educational standards, to ensure fair access to educational opportunity. · help fulfil every child’s educational potential. · ensure that there are sufficient schools in its area and promote diversity and parental choice. · keep provision for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) under review (including its sufficiency). 5. That it be noted, the funding for the proposed expansion of Green Park School would be subject to approval through the appropriate governance mechanisms including an Individual Executive Decision Notice.
