Purpose: To authorise the making of a non-immediate Article 4 Direction to withdraw permitted development rights for the conversion of individual dwellings (Use Class C3) to small Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) (Use Class C4).

Content: RESOLVED (i)            To approve the making of an immediate Article 4 Direction to be brought into effect immediately. This will remove permitted development rights for the change of use from Use Class C3 dwellinghouses to Use Class C4 small houses in Multiple Occupation for the entire borough of Tameside as identified within the Direction.2. (ii)          Authorise the Director of Legal and Democratic Services to issue the relevant Direction and Notices to support the immediate Article 4 Direction.3. (iii)        To note the content of the Houses in Multiple Occupation: Evidence to justify the purpose and extent of an Article 4Direction, as appended to this report, that has been prepared to support the proposed making of the Direction.4. (iv)        To Authorise the Director of Strategic Growth to consider comments received to the Notice and to confirm the Direction.
