Date of Decision: December 9, 2025
Purpose: To approve the Planning Fee Charges
Content: It was RESOLVED: - That Cabinet: 1.1 That Cabinet approved the additional fee charges, as set out in the attached schedule of fees in Appendix 1. 1.2 That Cabinet agreed that the fee schedule should be introduced with immediate effect for all relevant queries received. 1.3 That Cabinet agreed that the Planning Service should monitor the agreed charging schedule for a period of 12 months and report the results of this monitoring to the Director of Place and Cabinet Member for Planning at the end of this period. 1.4 That delegated authority be given to the Director of Place to, at least annually, review the schedule of charges and as needed and be authorised to amend the schedule in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning to reflect current good business practice. REASON FOR DECISION The Councils Planning service required effective oversight and management that balances the need for the service to be effective and consistent and which recoverd the cost of officer time, improved capacity as well as addressing overall workloads. No fees were currently charged for these applications or amendments, and charging would provide cost recovery to support the delivery of these applications and the service. Alternative Options Considered and Rejected: Option 1:To not approve these additional charges. This is not recommended because it would compromise the adequate resourcing of this work. Any Declarations of Interests Declared: None Any Dispensation Granted: None
