Purpose: Landlord Consent to Broadwater Sports Ltd (Guildford Rugby Club) for sublease and construction of 3 covered Padel courts to operator Padel Xtra GU7 Ltd

Content: RESOLVED to: Grant consent to Broadwater Sports Club Ltd to allow for the subletting of part of Broadwater Park to Padel Xtra GU7 Ltd including alterations on the terms set out in Heads of Terms (attached at Appendix 1& 2 Exempt).  

Reasons for the decision: 1.      Padel tennis is a growing sport and would provide a popular recreational offering for the local community and will deliver on the Council's Corporate Strategy objective of ‘a more inclusive Borough’ 2.      Consent for the new sublease will generate an increased rental income and revenue for WBC and Guildford Rugby Club. 3.      The additional revenue and offering will allow stakeholders continued investment in the asset and to diversify their sports offer.
