Purpose: To consider approving capital match funding for Environment Agency approved and funded flood protection schemes following our Lead Local Flood Authority section 19 investigations and reports.
Content: 1. That the addition of capital flood risk management funding to the 2026/27 Council budget decision on 18 February 2026, for a delivery of Lavendon and Woughton Flood Alleviation Schemes (FAS) for a total of £3.080m, including £1.261m which the Council is match funding, split £907k for Lavendon and £354k for Woughton, be approved. 2. That the setting up of a Flood Capital Programme for a delivery of flood schemes such as Flood Alleviation Schemes (FAS) and Property Flood Resilience schemes (PFR) and identify appropriate resourcing, be approved. 3. That the commencement of procurement and tendering exercise for the necessary construction works and consultancy contracts, as required, to enable the delivery of the projects and programmes outlined in this report be approved. 4. That authority be delegated to the Director of Environment and Property, in consultation with the Cabinet member for Public Realm, to finalise the arrangements for the progression of outline business case and funding assurance for Lavendon and Woughton FAS with the Environment Agency, in line with latest government policy and available funding, as well as the procurement and construction works award of the schemes in both Lavendon and Woughton.
